Highlights & Sightseeing

Acropolis

These magnificent ruins are an iconic temple complex built on Athen’s rocky hilltop in 5th century B.C. The Acropolis is visible from most parts of the city and acts as a hub in which Athens revolves around. A brilliant sight day or night, take it in from your hotel balcony or opt for a closeup view with a tour up to the top.

Archaeological Site of Olympia

The birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most significant sporting event in all of antiquity, was Ancient Olympia in western Peloponnese, in the so-called "valley of the gods." Beginning in 776 B.C., all Greeks from around the known world would come together every four years and all hostilities would be put on hold so that everyone could participate in these games in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Olympia is once again a well-known travel destination and a significant monument with a global following.

Marvels & Myths

Discover the highlights of “the Classic City” during your included Guided Sightseeing. Stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, one of the venues of the first modern Olympics games, before visiting the Acropolis, located on a hill overlooking Athens.

Heroes, Gods & Men

Leave Athens and head for the Peloponnese peninsula, where heroic myths and legends of Hercules, the Argonauts, and Helen of Troy were born. Enjoy time en-route for a photo stop at the world’s deepest (and one of the most famous) canals, the Corinth Canal. Continue to Diakopto to board the Odontotis rack railway for a dramatic journey along the Vairaikos Canyon to the mountain town of Kalavryta. Later today, arrive in Olympia.

Tour highlight

DRAMATIC VIEW one of Greece’s most breathtaking engineering feats—the Corinth Canal. This narrow, dramatic passage slices through the Isthmus of Corinth, linking the deep-blue waters of the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. Completed in the late 19th century, it forms a natural-looking divide between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece.

Ancient Wonders

Start the day with a guided walking tour of the archaeological site of Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympic games and the site of the Temple of Hera, from where the Olympic torch is lit. After this captivating visit, discover the sweeter side of Olympia with a visit to a honey farm.
