Lyon
At the intersection of the Rhône and Saône rivers is Lyon, the regional capital of France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. In its heart, 2,000 years of history are represented by the Roman Amphitheatre des Trois Gaules, mediaeval and Renaissance buildings in Old Lyon, and the contemporary Confluence neighbourhood on the Presqu'île peninsula.
