Mount Maunganui
Mount Maunganui, a laid-back neighbourhood on a peninsula, is famous for the extinct Mount Maunganui volcano, a sacred Maori site with hiking paths that provide views of the ocean. Pilot Bay Beach provides calm seas for paddle boarding, while the long, sandy Main Beach is well known for its surf breakers. While breakfast joints, international restaurants, and boutiques abound in the town centre, the Mount Hot Pools complex offers saltwater bathing and spa services.

Day 1: Arrive in Auckland
Welcome to New Zealand's largest city, blending harbour islands, Polynesian culture and a vibrant city centre, Auckland has been ranked amongst top in the world as a lifestyle city. Upon arrival in Auckland you will be transferred to your downtown accommodation.

Day 2: Auckland
Experience the best of Auckland today by using the 24 Hour Hop on Hop off Bus to visit the highlights the inner city offers before heading out to the untamed coastline of the rugged West Coast with deep black beaches and subtropical rainforests.

Day 3: Auckland to Rotorua
Depart to Rotorua in style on a coach tour from Auckland to Hobbiton Movie Set and discover where cinematic magic was made. Take a guided tour of the famous Hobbiton Movie Set, located inside a picturesque 1,250- acre sheep and beef farm near Matamata. Here, the village of Hobbiton was carefully created in amazing detail as a film location for the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie trilogies. During your guided tour of this amazing location, you'll see sights like Hobbit Holes, the Mill, and The Green Dragon Inn, and learn how farmland was transformed into a living, breathing piece of Middle-earth. After exploring Hobbiton, tuck into a delicious lunch at The Green Dragon Inn. Then finish the tour with a coach ride down to Rotorua.

Embark on a thrilling 90-minute journey through Rotorua aboard a WWII amphibious vehicle, exploring both land and water! Day 5: Rotorua to Wellington
Enjoy a rest day aboard a comfy coach to Wellington. Once arrived, settled into accommodation and enjoy an evening of leisure.

Day 6: Wellington - Picton - Christchurch
Cruise on the Interislander ferry from Wellington to Picton and then connect with the Coastal Pacific train from Picton to Christchurch.

Enjoy a day tour filled with local highlights including the Skippers Canyon, Arrowtown, Lakes District Museum, Bungy bridge viewing Bungy Dome, Lord of the Rings Movie movie location (Pillars of the King) and Lake Hayes.

Day 10: Queenstown
Enjoy a day of leisure at your own pace to explore Queenstown. Queenstown is surrounded by world-class vineyards, so why not spend your afternoon wine tasting. Or take a trip up the Skyline Gondola and enjoy breathtaking views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, and the surrounding mountains.

Day 11: Queenstown Departure
Today marks the end of the journey. Transfer to the Queenstown Airport to depart home.
