Madeira Cable Car
Hovering above the city and arriving in peaceful Monte in a cable car will give you panoramic views of the garden city of Funchal and the sea. Making your way back down to the city in an iconic "basket car" is highly recommended!

Sugarloaf Mountain
Rising 396 meters above the harbour, Sugarloaf Mountain is said to have derived its name from its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. To reach the summit, passengers take two cable cars. The first ascends to the shorter Morro da Urca, 220 meters high. The second car ascends to Pão de Açúcar. The bubble-shaped cars offer passengers 360° views of the surrounding city. The ascent takes three minutes from start to finish.
