It serves as the starting point for tours and cruises to nearby Isla Yécapasela, sometimes known as "Penguin Island" because to its numerous colonies of penguins.

Cape Town's mountain offers many hiking trails and splendid views all around.

The historic neighborhood of San Telmo
Pop-up art galleries, late-night bars and street murals lend old San Telmo a bohemian vibe. Lined with antiques dealers and raucous steakhouses, Defensa street cuts through Plaza Dorrego, where a flea market and street performers attract tourists every Sunday. In Parque Lezama, paths wind around tall jacaranda trees and the Italianate Museo Histórico Nacional. Upscale tango dinner-show venues dot the neighborhood.

Belem Tower
The unique four-story Belem Tower fortress sits directly on the banks of the Tagus, and was built in the 16th century to defend the harbor. Originally a lighthouse, it was also used as a prison.
