Farmers markets, candy-colored buildings, and the remains of sugar plantations compete for visitors' attention in St. John's, Antigua's capital city, with a rainbow of coral reefs and sailing excursions. Castries
Castries, a thriving harbour city, serves as the nation's capital. For fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts, shoppers throng Castries Market and the city's numerous boutiques. In the Derek Walcott Square, which bears the poet from St. Lucia's name who won the Nobel Prize, tourists may unwind while admiring murals created by a local artist within the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Visitors can take in expansive views from Morne Fortune (Hill of Good Luck), the site of a conflict between the French and English for sovereignty of the island.

Roseau City
The ancient Kalinago Indian settlement of Sairi is now the site of the capital city of Roseau, which is encircled by the Caribbean Sea, the Roseau River, and Morne Bruce. The charming town is small enough to be easily explored on foot and features a beautiful collection of French buildings from the 18th century. The New Market on the Riverbank, which sells fresh tropical fruit, vegetables, and herbs, is one of the attractions near Roseau. The Roseau Market is open every day and night from Friday to Saturday, with Saturday mornings being its busiest time.
