Day 1 Depart North AmericaDepart from North America to begin your exciting adventure to Australia
Day 2 Cross the International DatelineYou will cross the International Dateline today and ‘lose a day’, but don’t worry , this will be regained on your journey home
Day 3 Arrive MelbourneOn arrival, you will need to make your way to your Melbourne accommodation. If you prefer, Goway can prebook all your airport transfers (additional charge applies). Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city, is stylish and cosmopolitan. It has been voted by The Economist as the “World’s most Livable City”. Part of this is the abundance of parks and gardens. The capital of Victoria, it is situated on an estuary of the Yarra River and boasts world-class culture, sports and dining.
Days 4 – 6 At Leisure in MelbourneWe have included in your vacation package an I-Venture Multi City Attraction Pass. This includes entry to 5 top attractions and can be used in Melbourne as well as Sydney later in your trip. Some of the featured attractions include entry to the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel and SEA Life Melbourne Aquarium or Melbourne Zoo. Perhaps enjoy a Melbourne River Cruise – these are just a few of the included attractions. These days are free to explore Melbourne. Federation Square is the perfect starting point, a major meeting place with its exhibitions, restaurants, bars and shopping. To see Melbourne from a different perspective, visit the Eureka Skydeck in the Eureka Tower (also included in the I-Venture Pass) for stunning views of the city’s heritage buildings especially when lit up after dark. A newer development is the restored Docklands where one can enjoy award-winning restaurants and stylish bars and cafes. For something different, head to St. Kilda’s or Fitzroy, colourful neighbourhoods with characters of their own. St. Kilda’s has its own beachfront and is home to Luna Park, the renowned amusement park.
Day 7 Melbourne to CairnsMake your way to the airport for your flight to Tropical North Queensland. On arrival you will make your way to your Cairns hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Nestled between the Great Barrier Reef and the lush, tropical rainforest of North Queensland, Cairns is your ideal base for exploring.
Day 8 Michaelmas Cay Great Barrier Reef CruiseA full day cruise to Michaelmas Cay for snorkelling, diving and sailing on Australia's magnificent Great Barrier Reef. Set sail aboard Ocean Spirit's five star catamaran and enjoy a reef experience like no other. Your tour includes: four full hours on the reef, morning refreshments, superb hot and cold buffet with seafood, afternoon tea, snorkelling demonstrations and tuition plus use of all snorkelling equipment, use of flotation vests, informative ecological presentations by a qualified marine biologists, coral viewing on a glass bottom boat, guided bird tours, musical entertainment on the homeward sail to Cairns and a high crew to guest ratio (1:9).
Day 9-10 Cairns at LeisureCairns is a small city in the tropical north of Queensland and is best known as the Gateway to Great Barrier Reef, one of Australia’s most popular destinations. From Cairns, there is easy access to rainforests, tropical islands, reefs and mountains. Not far away, you can enjoy world-class diving or snorkeling getting close to schools of tropical fish and abundant marine life.
Day 11 Depart Cairns for SydneyMake your way to the airport this morning for your flight to Sydney. On arrival in Sydney you will need to make your way to your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. Nature blessed Sydney with one of most idyllic settings in the world which is reflected in its large eye-appealing harbour and excellent beaches. This cosmopolitan city is not only scenically beautiful but, like most major cities, has an abundance of culture, history and venues to keep any visitor occupied for several days.
