Pedra Branca State Park
This is one of the largest urban nature parks in the world occupy about 10% of the city. Formally created in June of 1974, protecting an area of Atlanic Forest and containing Pico da Pedra Branca, the highest point of the city. Guided tours are available through several ecological trials including an 11KM hike to the top of Pedra Branca or the 3KM Piabas-Grumari Crossing leading you through dense Atlantic forest to Grumari Beach. Along with being a recognized UNESCO Bioshpere Reserve this amazing park also contains the chapel of São Gonçalo do Amarante built in 1625 as well as the church of Nossa Senhora de Monserrat, built in 1776.

Salvador, the state capital of Bahia in northeastern Brazil, is renowned for its Afro-Brazilian culture, Portuguese colonial architecture, and tropical coastline. This national park and UNESCO world heritage site is home to Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and the world's third-tallest volcanic structure.
